Dan Lorenzo has been selling advertising
for Steppin' Out magazine for over 17 years now.
Dan toured Europe and America with the bands HADES
and NON-FICTION (with Alan Tecchio on vocals for
both bands) before coming to Steppin' Out in 1994.
Dan's last cd was THE CURSED "Room Full of
Sinners" with Overkill vocalist Bobby Blitz.
Dan has interviewed many bands for Steppin' Out
including Slayer, Danzig, Alice In Chains, Kiss,
Aerosmith and many others. When not in Steppin'
Out's office, Dan can usually be found on a basketball
court or traveling with his wife Gina. Dan and Alan
still play sporadic shows with Hades. Their last
show was in July of 2010 with Twisted Sister and
Queensryche in Germany. Both Dan and Alan are featured
in the Simon and Schuster cook book MOSH POTATOES.
Stunning Rocky Allison pens the popular
bartender's angst column 20 Percent. Often the column
that's read first in the magazine, Rocky's loyal
readers continue to grow week to week. A former
Playboy centerfold, Rocky's wit, charm and take
no prisoners charisma make this beauty one of the
best Steppin' Out has to offer.
As a graduate of The School of Visual
Arts, Doug is proficient in multiple mediums. He
spent his young adult life traveling the world,
enjoying the arts, food, and lifestyles of other
cultures. Doug inadvertently found himself in dire
straights and financial despair. It led him and
his pet monkey, Dr. Jones, into the most treacherous
jungles, becoming involved in the dangerous and
controversial "Exotic, Endangered, and Venomous
Animal Trade." Upon his return to the States
and a brief sabbatical at The Saint Lou E. Home
for the Criminally Insane, Athletic and Drama Center
and Sunset Center for the Proliferation of Veterinary
Hygiene in St. Paul, M.S., he was discovered at
the local bar training rats to find spare change
by philanthropist Larry Collins. After shots, karaoke,
and a night of drunken conversation, Doug was hired
by Larry as Steppin' Out's artist, graphic designer,
and web editor. Doug still buys his morning coffee
with his rat money until this day.
For more than two decades Larry Collins
has been the commander-in-chief behind what has
become the most successful weekly entertainment
magazine in the New Jersey and New York City area.
What started as nothing more than a dream in 1988,
Larry along with his wife Pamela laid down the foundation
for Steppin Out from his parents basement. Against
all odds, the loving couple developed a unique and
well respected magazine that has often been imitated
but never out done. To this day, Larry's dedication
to both the readers and of course the hundreds of
loyal advertisers who have believed in Steppin Out
since the beginning remains his top priority.
